Out and About in a Natural Environment

The Hotel zum Goldenen Stern serves as an excellent point of departure for hiking, biking, motorcycling and other outdoor activities. Our hotel is well suited to the needs of hikers, bikers and motorcyclist and offers them quality accommodation.

Wherever you come in the Eifel region, you will encounter remnants of our long historical heritage: stone-age caves, ruins and buildings from the Roman period (ancient aqueducts, for instance), and over one hundred castles, fortresses and monasteries.

The main reason for touring the Eifel region, however, is simply Mother Nature. Flora and fauna abound. There are old oak forests, one of the last remaining highland moors in Europe, the "High Fen" (German: Hohes Venn) of the German-Belgian Nature Park, and fascinating volcanic lakes (German: Maar) in the nearby area known as the Vulcanic Eifel (German: Vulkaneifel)

Golfing in the Eifel region is a particular delight because of the natural surroundings. There are three golf courses in the Prüm area.

In wintertime you can take advantage of the nearby ski regions: the Schwarzer Mann (Black Man) ridge and the Wolfsschucht (Wolf’s Ravine). They are suitable for alpine (downhill) and cross-country skiing, and for bobsledding.

The Nürburgring is internationally known for car-racing. It also has a museum. You can try the northern ring of the track out for yourself, either on your motorcycle or in your car.

 

Fitness

For guests who are particularly interested in keeping fit during their holidays or on business trips, we have fitness programmes to suit you at the nearby sport studio "Fit Inn".
